Project Description

The TajWSS programme ran for 13 years across rural Tajikistan — implemented by Oxfam International in partnership with UNDP, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. By its close in 2022, it had delivered clean water and sanitation access to approximately 136,000 people across 15 operational sites.

At the programme's end, Oxfam needed one thing: a way to transfer 13 years of complex field learning into the hands of practitioners, partners, and policymakers who would carry the work forward.

We designed a structured instruction booklet covering the programme's key learnings, with a custom illustration system built for each section. Every illustration was functional — designed to visualize the core idea of its corresponding guideline, not to decorate it. Governance models, community ownership frameworks, demand-driven design principles: each given a visual language that made the concept immediately legible across language and context.
